Meet Dr. Mike Capogna
Mike Capogna
Dr. Mike was born and raised on Long Island. He attended Saint Anthony’s High School. Upon graduation, he continued his studies at Boston College where he double majored in Biology and Human Development.
Qualifications and expertise
After four years away from home, Dr. Mike returned to Long Island to receive his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. While in dental school, Dr. Mike received numerous academic awards, held leadership roles, and spent a summer in Madagascar providing dental care to underserved populations. Following dental school, he completed his residency training in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics at the University of Pennsylvania. During his residency, Dr. Mike was trained in the utilization of the latest orthodontic techniques such as Invisalign®, 3D imaging, and orthognathic surgery. He performed clinical research, spent time with the cleft and craniofacial teams at the Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania (CHOP), and treated a variety of complex and interdisciplinary cases.
When Dr. Mike is not creating beautiful smiles, he enjoys spending time with his wife Christine and their two sons Charlie and Teddy. He is an avid drummer, enjoys live music, and loves to travel.
Dr. Mike is passionate about providing patients of all ages with beautiful, healthy smiles in a family atmosphere. He takes great pride in the fact that Capogna Orthodontics is truly a family practice.
